Special Abilities
Death Throes (Ex): When killed, if at least half of the damage inflicted to the salt quasielemental was by water, it explodes in a hail of shards that deal damage to anything within 30 feet according to the below table. Those in range take half damage with a Reflex save at the listed DC. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Dessication (Ex): All living creatures within 50 feet of a salt quasielemental take damage according to the below table, half damage with a Fortitude save at the listed DC. Creatures with the Plant type or Water subtype take double damage. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Salt Glide (Ex): A burrowing salt quasielemental can pass through salt and related minerals as easily as a fish swims through water. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other sign of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.
Vulnerability to Water (Ex): A significant amount of water, such as that created by a create water spell, the contents of a large bucket, or a blow from a water elemental, that strikes a salt quasielemental forces the creature to make a DC 20 Fortitude save to avoid taking 2d6 damage. A salt quasielemental that is immersed in water must make a DC 20 Fortitude save each round (this DC increases by +1 each subsequent round) or die, immediately triggering its death throes.
