Not quite a plane, these pockets of existence found within the Ethereal Plane carry a wide variety of traits and properties. There are no true commonalities between them - some are natural, others are constructed; some are finite, others looping, others unbounded; some are dead magic, others vastly enhanced.

On rare occasion, a plane will even expand from demiplane status to full plane. The Plane of Shadow was quite recently merely a demiplane, if an especially well-connected one, but it has since become a full transitive plane.
