A more solid form of protomatter, primal essence resembles sand, though smooth and polished. Individual grains are perfectly spherical, and appear to be made of solid mercury.

A dose of primal essence costs 150 gold. Primal essence may substitute for any material component costing 100 gold or less. Multiple doses can stand in for components costing more than 100 gold.
