When you cast this spell, you can assume the form of a Small elemental, paraelemental, or quasielemental. The abilities you gain depend upon the type of elemental into which you change. Elemental abilities based on size, such as burn, vortex, and whirlwind, use the size of the elemental you transform into to determine their effect.

  • Air elemental: If the form you take is that of a Small air elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain fly 60 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, and the ability to create a whirlwind. This spell gains the Air descriptor.
  • Earth elemental: If the form you take is that of a Small earth elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Strength and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain darkvision 60 feet and the ability to earth glide. This spell gains the Earth descriptor.
  • Fire elemental: If the form you take is that of a Small fire elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You gain darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 20, vulnerability to cold, and the burn ability. This spell gains the Fire descriptor.
  • Water elemental: If the form you take is that of a Small water elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain swim 60 feet, darkvision 60 feet, the ability to create a vortex, and the ability to breathe water. This spell gains the Water descriptor.
  • Ice paraelemental: If the form you take is that of a Small ice paraelemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain swim 60 feet, darkvision 60 feet, resist cold 20, vulnerability to fire, and the ability to ice glide and icewalk. This spell gains the Air, Cold, and Water descriptors.
  • Magma paraelemental: If the form you take is that of a Small magma paraelemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain burrow 20 feet, darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 10, vulnerability to cold, and the burn ability (damage as a fire elemental, -2 racial DC penalty). This spell gains the Earth and Fire descriptors.
  • Ooze paraelemental: If the form you take is that of a Small ooze paraelemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain swim 30 feet, darkvision 60 feet, the ability to breathe water and earth glide through loose earth, and you gain the burn ability (damage as a fire elemental, you deal acid damage). This spell gains the Acid, Earth, and Water descriptors.
  • Smoke paraelemental: If the form you take is that of a Small smoke paraelemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain fly 30 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 10, the heat ability (damage as a fire elemental's burn ability), and a choking aura (treat as stench, duration 5 rounds). This spell gains the Air and Fire descriptors.
  • Lightning quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small lightning quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity. You also gain fly 60 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, and the metal mastery and spark leap abilities. This spell gains the Air and Electricity descriptors.
  • Mineral quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small mineral quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain darkvision 60 feet, vulnerability to acid and sonic, fast healing 3, and the ability to earth glide. This spell gains the Earth descriptor.
  • Radiance quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small radiance quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain fly 30 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, immunity to blindness, the heat ability (damage as a fire elemental's burn ability), and you glow as though the target of a daylight spell for the duration of the spell. This spell gains the Fire and Light descriptors.
  • Steam quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small steam quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity. You also gain fly 30 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 10, resist cold 10, and the equivalent of the burn ability (damage as a fire elemental's burn ability, -2 racial DC penalty, damage dealt is fire or cold chosen at casting). This spell gains the Water descriptor.
  • Ash quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small ash quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain darkvision 60 feet, resist cold 10, vulnerability to fire, and the heat ability (damage as a fire elemental, you deal cold damage). This spell gains the Cold descriptor.
  • Dust quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small dust quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You also gain darkvision 60 feet, the engulf ability (dealing damage as a fire elemental), and the ability to create a whirlwind. This spell gains the Earth descriptor.
  • Salt quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small salt quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Constitution and a +4 natural armor bonus. You also gain darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 20, vulnerability to water (damages as acid), and the heat ability (damage as a fire elemental, you deal typeless damage, only effects living creatures). This spell gains the Acid descriptor.
  • Vacuum quasielemental: If the form you take is that of a Small vacuum quasielemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity. You also gain fly 60 feet (perfect), darkvision 60 feet, immunity to fire and gas, natural invisibility, and you are unable to attack or cast spells with verbal or material components or manipulate solid objects. This spell gains the Cold descriptor.
